The Ceremony: Summergrove Estate Chapel
Kristen and Kent said their vows on top of the hills at the Summergrove Estate Chapel. This beautiful ceremony was held in front of large glass windows overlooking the NSW hinterland. The romantic chapel featured traditional church pews, timber floors and beams, air-conditioning and spectacular ocean views out the 3m high windows.
The ceremony was styled with simple green vines framing the large windows and bouquets of greenery lining the aisle at the end of each pew. A round timber signing table was set up to the left of the chapel and a musician was set up to the right to accompany the ceremony.
After the ceremony guests made their way to Kingscliff’s beachside wedding venue for pre-dinner cocktails and the reception dinner. The bridal party stayed at Summergrove for bridal photos around the 73-acre property.

PRE-DINNER COCKTAILS
Upon arrival guests were treated to a Moscow Mule cocktail and a bar tab featuring a range of wines, Champagne, tap beer, bottled beers and cider. Antipasto platters featuring cured meats, cheeses, marinated olives, sundried tomatoes and Turkish bread were arranged in the reception room. Cocktail hour also featured cheese boards with creamy ash brie, blue vein and crumbly aged cheddar with vanilla honey walnuts, port-infused Turkish figs, fresh grapes and a selection of crackers and sourdough.
The reception venue boasts white walls, timber floors and beams as well as large windows overlooking the trees with views of the ocean. The space offers modern AV facilities and access to its own exclusive bar.
Kristen and Kent’s reception was set up as one large banquet table. The long timber banquet table was styled with simple floral decorations of white roses and dark greenery. Menus were placed in each setting and tied together with twine and a sprig of rosemary. Tea light candles ran down the centre of the table and white wicker chairs lined the table adding to the romantic coastal atmosphere.
Festoon lights and greenery chandeliers hung from the ceiling and a mixture of dry bars and couches were set up down the Southern end of the space. The gift table was set up on the grand piano with the couples wishing well and small gifts for the guests. A band was set up in front of a wall of fairy lights and played music all night to accompany the reception.
THE RECEPTION DINNER
Once the bridal party arrived, the first round of speeches were heard before the three-course, alternate-drop reception dinner began. Entrée included an alternate drop of caramelised onion, roast pumpkin and feta tart with rocket and cashew pesto or slow-cooked beef cheeks with celeriac purée and black beer jus.
A second round of speeches were heard followed by a main course of either 12-hour braised lamb shoulder with truffle mash or pan-seared chicken breast with creamy spinach, mushrooms and truffle oil.
The final course was a decadent dessert of rich dark chocolate brownie and orange sorbet or rosewater pavlova with vanilla cream, strawberries and pistachios.
After dessert the newlyweds danced their first dance and guests soon took to the dance floor to celebrate.
